Private Placements Our private placement group assists private and public corporate issuers, as well as investment funds, in raising private capital. The private placement group focuses on raising equity capital from traditional institutional and venture capital sources and strategic investors. In Inland China in particular, we see huge demand from good quality issuers for overseas financial and technical support. With the accession of China into WTO and the continuing liberalisation of the China capital market, we are positive of the stronger overseas demand for quality deals from the China’s emerging industries. For its activities here, the private placement group uses Polaris's institutional network to reduce transaction costs for clients and investors. At the moment, not every market allows us to offer private placement through general solicitation. Nevertheless, since private placement transactions are generally subject to less stringent regulations regarding the form and content of marketing materials, the private placement group has greater latitude to use on-line marketing materials and other means of efficient dissemination of information as compared to more normal public underwriting practices.
